2005-2009: 101 REM reports including 91 forest infractions investigation reports, 20 analysis reports.
Cameroon was REM’s first Independent Forest Monitoring project in formal government with a timber-producing Government. Over a period of 4 years, we carried out 91 mostly joint (with enforcement officials) and independent investigations on forest infractions concerning several forest titles, produced 20 analysis reports on enforcement issues and illegalities proposing concrete solutions, and jointly developed enforcement tools with government officials which we tested in the field with officers. REM’s pioneering work has been acknowledged as key in providing information to the international Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade process.
